 The purpose of this website is to promote the Central Missouri Humane Society, or CMHS, in our campaign to win a $1,000,000.00 grant contest from the website ZooToo.com.This website is an unofficial supplement to the Central Missouri Humane Society's official site, http://www.CMHSpets.org. We are volunteer-run on behalf of and unofficially authorized by CMHS; the Central Missouri Humane Society is not responsible for our content. We have built this site simply to make it easier to spread the word about this contest, with supplemental information about registering, events, news articles, links, blogs, and so on in one place on the web, with a name that's easy to remember and easy to share—CMHSmakeover.com—but, we strongly encourage you to visit CMHS's own official website for the latest & greatest from CMHS itself. The contest is divided into 3 Phases; we're currently in Phase 3, the final voting phase. In Phase 1, nearly 3,000 shelters across the United States competed for a place on the Top 20 list in the contest. Registered ZooToo.com users earned points for their chosen shelter by being active on the website. The Top 20 shelters moved on to Phase 2 toward the million-dollar top prize on Friday, March 13th 2009, with the #1 shelter in terms of points earned receiving a bonus $10,000 prize in addition to moving on toward the million-dollar giveaway with the other 19 top-ranked shelters in Phase 2. The Central Missouri Humane Society was ranked #1 in Phase 1 as of Friday, March 13th, and therefore won a bonus $10,000, in addition to moving on to Phase 2. In Phase 2, the CEO and owner of ZooToo.com visited each of the Top 20 shelters from Phase 1 to meet with their boards of directors, tour the shelters, and interview their staffs. He and his staff chose ten of the Top 20 shelters to progress to Phase 3 toward the million-dollar prize. In Phase 3 (the current phase), the contest opens to a public vote. Every registered ZooToo.com user who has also uploaded a profile photo will be permitted to vote 10 times per day for the shelter(s) of his or her choice, so please register on the site and upload a photo so that you can help us by voting once Phase 3 begins! Voting runs from Monday, April 13th for seven days through Sunday, April 19th. Please make sure to log on to ZooToo.com and vote each day, so that all 70 of your available votes will go to CMHS!
